Menus 11/23/09 - 11/29/09

11/23 Mon: Honey Curry Chicken, cornbread stuffing (from a mix), green salad.

11/24 Tues: Skillet Chili Mac with Corn and Green Chilies, green salad.

11/25 Wed: Breakfast for dinner - Gingerbread Waffles, eggs however Mr. Mamie wants to fix them, bacon.

11/26 Thurs: Since we had Thanksgiving with 19 family members who were here for Mom's memorial (see the menu here), this is our UN-Thanksgiving dinner day.  The Igor Family will be coming over, along with GolfDad when he's not marshaling at the golf course.  We'll be watching football (Raiders v. Cowboys in the afternoon), and we've already received from Netflix a copy of "The Princess Bride" for our family movie feature in the evening.  The menu will include: Mom's Party Mix (or, possibly, No-Nut Party Mix - I have the cereal and pretzels already, but no nuts, and don't know if I'll get around to buying any!), corn and black bean salsa + tortilla chips, nacho cheese + tortilla chips (two versions: our usual - recipe later - as well as a chili-fied option), veggies + dip, make-your-own-pizza extravaganza, and White Texas Sheet Cake for dessert.  We'll be positively waddling after this day, just like on "regular" Thanksgiving!

11/27 Fri: C.O.R.N.!*

11/28 Sat: Greek Chicken cooked on the grill, lemony rice pilaf, green salad, homemade French bread (from the freezer).

11/29 Sun: Crockpot Simple Chuck Pot Roast + carrots/potatoes, green salad, oatmeal dinner rolls (from the freezer).

*Clean out refrigerator (and freezer) night. Time to eat some leftovers!

  2. I love your C.O.R.N. night--do you make it all into casserole? A colleague was just telling me earlier this week about musgo casserole ("MUST-GO")and your blog reminded me that I'd like to try that soon! What a great blog--thanks!

  3. BTW, this is Gracie from the Red Kitchen Project, but it doesn't seem to like my RKP user name, just my other one... :)

  4. Gracie, love your blog, too! And thanks for the compliment. Been reading it for a while. Nope, no casserole on C.O.R.N evenings, just a smorgasboard of left-overs. BTW, the C.O.R.N. acronym comes from Heather and Ivy over at HomeEc-101.com.

I'm enjoying blog visiting while I'm watching "Law & Order" on TNT.
    Happy Thanksgiving!
