Molly left us today to go over the Rainbow Bridge. From the little puppy I adopted from the Berkeley Animal Shelter on December 4, 1997 to a grand old lady until she took her last morning nap on the cool tile of the hall floor, she was an amazing companion. Molly traveled tens of thousands of miles with me on adventures throughout California, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. She was at my side in my first year of teaching and in the 14 years since. She lived in five different homes with me, and hid from the vacuum cleaner in every one. It was a good life, and she left peacefully here at home in her own time and in her own way.
We love you, MollyPollyWollyDog... your brothers Henry and Scoutie, your friends Emma and Nakita, your cousins Rusty and Roxy, and most importantly Grandma Wombat are all waiting for you on the other side.

I really love the picture of Molly by the Christmas tree. There is a look of anticipation and sweetness that was really captured on film. So innocent and trusting!
