Bread

Lately we have been going through bread like crazy - a loaf is definitely not lasting even for a week! It may be because there are open jars of BOTH plum jelly (canned by Mr. Mamie's mom) AND peach jam (canned by his sister) in the fridge... both SOOOOO yummy!  However, running out of bread in the middle of the week is NOT COOL, so last weekend I made FOUR loaves in one day and froze three of them. We'll see how long it lasts!

THIS is my favorite recipe, hands-down. Sometimes I add some ground flax seed and/or wheat germ to the dough, sometimes not - it's good as written as well as with additions.  I let the bread machine mix the dough and do the first rise (using the DOUGH cycle, which on my machine takes 90 minutes). The I take the dough out, put it in a pan, and let it rise again for 30 minutes. THEN I put it in a cold oven, turn the oven on to 350, and bake for 30 minutes. The bread comes out perfect, EVERY time. So good!
